Large bat house, measuring (rear measurements) 26L x 17 1/4W and (front measurements) 22L x 17 1/4W and each box is 2 3/4D (these are single chamber bat houses).  Made from cedar (left natural) and grooves are routered inside for the bats to comfortably hang from.  Price $120 and pick up at our shop or message us with a quote for shipping.
 
When installing your bat house, it must be located at least 10 feet or more off the ground, either on a pole, dead tree or your house.  It is best to install bat houses in groups of 2 or more beside each other for brooding purposes and to allow bats to switch from one shelter to the other depending on interior temperature.
 
In order to provide an ideal "roost" for bats, the house should be located in an area that receives at least 6-8 hours of sunlight each day.
 
Our single chamber bat houses should accommodate up to 100 bats per house.
 
Common bats found in Ontario can consume up to 1000 mosquito-sized insects per hour.
 
Fun fact:  Over 300 species of fruit depend on bats for pollination - without bats, say goodbye to bananas, avocados & mangoes (to name just a few). Also, about 80 medicines come from plants that rely on bats for their survival.
